Going Home For Spring Break, As Told By Ben & Jerry's Flavors

Ben & Jerry's

Most of us college students have experienced the reluctance of going home for spring break, or, at least, the reluctance to go home for some other holiday, while our other friends are off skiing or at some exotic beach. In honor of Ben & Jerry's releasing three new (absolutely delicious-sounding) flavors this past week, let's go over the emotions of going home for spring break, Ben & Jerry's style.

1. Holy Cannoli

I can't believe my friends skipped their Friday classes so they could catch their flights to Mexico and New York. And while I'm here in my 2:30 class, thinking about how this is going to be the Longest. Week. Of. My. Life.

2. Hazed & Confused

OK, am I sure I used to live here for 18 years? This does not feel right at all... I miss my real home, my 10x10 shared dorm room with perpetually dirty floors.

3. Chubby Hubby

OK, so there is one upside to being home: mom's cooking. It definitely comes at a price (her talking my ear all dinner), but it absolutely beats cafeteria food. Except I won't be able to fit in all those jeans I left at school...

4. Half-Baked

Oh, sweet, some of my out-of-state friends are back for the break, too. Time for some fun.

5. Chocolate Therapy

Wow, the week's almost over? OK, I definitely won't admit this to my parents, but this has actually been pretty nice. No classes, no professors, no annoying daily emails from the school with pointless reminders... Plus, none of the stress of traveling that my vacationing friends have had. Maybe I'll even come home for summer...

6. Coffee, Coffee, BuzzBuzzBuzz!

Was that really a full week...? Doesn't matter — it's Sunday morning and I am almost back to campus! Can't wait to finish off a sweet semester. Definitely not going back home this summer.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
