Why Everyone Should Attend A Concert At Least Once In Their Life
Emily Olson

Attending a live concert is the most exciting and surreal form of entertainment. It is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience that can’t be duplicated or replaced. It doesn’t matter what type of music you listen to at home, on the radio, or what songs you have saved on your Spotify playlist. Whether you like Country, Pop, R&B, Metal, or Indie/Alternative, I think you would agree that there is nothing like standing in a packed stadium, listening to the opening act finish their set before the stage gets dark, and a hush falls over the crowd. Your eyes are glued to the big screen waiting to hear what you paid for.

When you attend a concert, you are guaranteed to get your money's worth. It’s hard not to enjoy yourself when you are surrounded by friendly faces and are listening to songs you have heard a million times, but now you feel as if you are hearing them for the first time. However, it is important to realize that this chance of a lifetime doesn’t come cheap. And unless you are part of that band’s fan club, you might be pulling at your pocket strings looking for loose change.

Nevertheless, you can breathe a sigh of relief when you finally have that golden concert ticket in the palm of your hand. But what happens next is the tiny flaw you didn’t take into account. The dreaded wait. Slowly and steadily, the concert date begins to feel like it's years away instead of days or months. And you are counting down the seconds until you can be there in person. Meanwhile, all this excitement and adrenaline is building up inside of you until the night of the concert when all hell breaks loose. You see people sporting the quirkiest outfits and holding banners and signs of all shapes and colors. Not to mention the screaming fans everywhere you look. I’d say it’s one outrageous party that always goes out with a bang.

I’ve been lucky enough to see several bands and singers perform throughout the years, and have heard radical stories from friends that make it their mission to see their favorite bands every few months. Every concert is one in a million because no two shows are exactly alike. Yes, every artist has their own set list of original songs. But they also differ in the instruments they play, the lights and images projected, and the stunts they perform to create their own imaginative spectacle. Every artist has dreamed up their show and added their own design and innovation to make themselves stand out. I believe the most difficult decision is deciding who see in concert. It’s a fact that most performers sound 10 times better live than they do on television. With so many talented artists out there, it is hard to imagine not wanting to see them all perform live before our very eyes.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
