If you are like me, the start of school time means packing up your whole life into two checked bags and a backpack, hopping on a plane, and moving once again to a new state you now call home. If not, then maybe you just live and go to school in California or Texas where the states are so big, it might as well be a different state because you are still 6 hours from home. Either way, here is a compiled list of everything a college student feels when school time rolls around, told by none other than the office..
1. Trying to use your last couple weeks home to somehow make the 5,000 dollars you thought would be way easier to acquire.
2. Using the philosophy, "I got it here, so I can get it all back", with little to no acknowledgment to the fact that your wardrobe has doubled since the start of summer.
3. Eating all the good food your family has in preparation for only eating ramen for the next 8 months.
4. When you think you squeezed all your clothes in, getting to the airport, and finding out your suitcase weighs 50.7 pounds.
5. Being the last of your friends to go back to school, so you sit alone in your room counting the days to your return.
6. Trying to make your summer seem WAY cooler than it was to impress your college friends.
7. Finally getting back to school, but still feeling like your parents disapprove of your adult choices.
8. But then remembering they can't use the, "You're under my roof so you live by my rules", line on you anymore.
9. Finally getting everything done and having it hit you that you won't be home again for three months.
Returning to college is all the good and bad mixed into one week of chaos and excitement. So if you have had a couple mental breakdowns while heading back to school, at least know that we are all right there with you.
