Whether it is trying to figure out if you want to change you major, switching schools, or even relationships, timing can always seem to be an issue. Now, I know that a lot of the time patience and timing can clash and usually, patience wins outs, but take a second to pause. God has the specific timing set for a reason, so let God's timing occur when He has it set.
I know waiting around for something that you really want to happen can be the hardest thing in the world, believe me, I have been through it a lot. Even though being patient is hard, if you wait, the outcome can be so much better. There is a reason for when things happen and God has your life set up in such a way that when you want something to happen, it could be completely different from when God wants it to happen. If you use wanting a relationship for example and you jump ahead and are too impatient, something might happen where being pursued could end up not really occurring or getting twisted. That is never a good way to start off a relationship. Also, who knows how God is working in your guy's/ girl's heart, they may not be ready for you yet, even though you are ready for them. Although it can be a pain to wait for God's timing to work in your life, trust me, He has a really good reason as to why it is happening right now.
Another aspect related to God's timing is the future. I have had a lot of conversations with people where they get so worked up over what is going to happen in three to five years and it freaks them out. Yes, something could happen that soon and feel like that isn't that far away. In relation to your whole life, three years isn't that much but think about the growth that God could have in that time. God can have someone grow so much in six months, let alone three years. One of my best friends, last year we barely knew each other and this year we have become so close and I have seen her grow in her walk with God and she has seen me in mine. Would I ever have guessed that was going to happen in such a short amount of time? Not really. But this is one of the amazing ways that God's timing can be so extraordinary.
No matter what you are going through or what you are waiting for, God will either allow it to happen or give you something different, that is the flexible part for us. Yet when it comes to timing, God has that all on His own because no matter how we try to change God's timing, He will always show us why He was waiting in the first place. Now it may not be right away, but there is always good when one chooses to trust God and wait for His timing.
