So God Made A Teacher

God looked down on his planned paradise and said, "I need a caretaker."

God said "I need someone who will get up before the sunrises, say the Pledge of Allegiance, teach kids how to read and write, eat lunch surrounded by children, teach science and math, show them what is right and wrong, take up tickets for football games, lead parent meetings, get home late, love her students endlessly, and do it all again the next day." So God made a teacher.

He said, "I need someone who is strong willed but has a tender heart. I need someone who is willing to possibly be the only person disciplining a child, but also possibly the only person loving that child. I need someone who can love the unlovable and nurture the children who don't get loved at home." So God made a teacher.

"I need someone who is willing to give up time with their own spouse and children so that kids can play the sports they love. I need someone who will be the band director, cheer sponsor, coach a sports team, or sponsor the SGA. I need someone who will support students when they are winning, but also be an encouragement when they aren't." So God made teacher.

God said "I need someone who will stay up endless nights grading papers, making lesson plans, and preparing for the next day. I need someone who will lay awake thinking about one of her students at home and whether they are being treated right. I need someone who will spend all of the very little money she makes back on her students. I need someone who is selfless and kind." So God made a teacher.

He said, "I need someone who wakes up every morning desiring to make a difference. I need someone who doesn't care about the number on their paycheck, but the number of lives they will change. I need someone who can tell students that they are worth it and prove to them that it is true. I need someone who is humble and brave. I need someone who doesn't care about the income of their career but the outcome." So God made a teacher.

"I need someone who is willing to work year-round for little pay, all while getting little respect from other professionals. I need someone who is ambitious and determined. I need someone who will listen to my calling and do what very few people are willing to do. I need someone who will love, educate, discipline, and when needed, feed my children. I need someone who I can trust to make a difference in this world." So God made a teacher.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
