Sometimes it's just one of those days. Sometimes it's just one of those weeks. Sometimes it's just one of those months. It's not just being tired or having a lot on your plate. It's more than just being lonely or when you have a bad cold. It's the stress and the anxiety that nags at your heart and tells you lies that you can't help but believe.
You're not good enough for this.
You know no one really likes you, right?
You'd be happier if you were skinnier.
It's the overwhelming feeling that something is wrong with you. That everything you do and say is wrong. That your best is not good enough. It's crippling and can leave you sitting on your bedroom floor wondering what the point of anything is. The fear eats away at your heart, and you can feel it in your soul.
When this happens, whenever you feel alone, unwanted or useless, it can cause you to miss out on the best things in life. You can't get rid of these feelings, though; feelings come and go, and we will always have seasons in your life. You will always have the winter, but that doesn't make the spring any less wonderful.
Whenever I feel this way, I am reminded of my Savior's endless love for me. He loves me even when I am hating myself. He meets me where I am, and he uses these seasons to remind me of Him and how I don't need to rely on my own strength.
One of my favorite passages in the Bible is found in Matthew 6:25-26.
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"
The idea that the creator of the universe, the one who hung the stars, created volcanos, controls the seas and gives us rainbows and sunsets loves me and watches over me is mind blowing. The idea that we can call on Him and trust in Him blows my mind even more.
God will never leave us or reject us. When we go through our hardest trials, He is right there, even if we don't notice. He will always be there for us and He loves us even at our lowest points.
No matter how low you think of yourself, God loves you. He made you exactly the way you are. He created the stars and thought the world needed you too.
When your bad days turn into bad months, God is right there. He will comfort you and love you through every negative thought you have about yourself. He will give you people who will lift you higher and will never forsake you.
No matter how dark your days get, you will always have Him, and that's enough for me.
