Be patient and be still.

Life is hard, and it's scary. It's unpredictable and a lot of times, things happen when you least expect it. The idea of that is extremely intimidating. I came across a photo the other day on Pinterest (which is the holy grail of ideas) and I felt that it was important to share because it inspired me.

Just read this, and think it about it for a second.

You see, we are so quick to question God and his love for us when we feel that He isn't listening to us. The thing is that He is listening; God hears us all the time, we just don't realize it. Ever wonder why? Reading this will answer that question. Because we are creatures of the world, often we get wrapped up in the world and its material things. Along with that, we begin to think more in sync with the ways of the world. We want what we want, and we want it NOW. As we all know, that isn't always how it works. God has a plan for us. He knows what we want, he's heard all of our prayers and thoughts and cries. But, he also knows what is best for us even when we don't, and only He knows what He has in store for us. I refer back to Exodus 14:14

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still."

I think this verse just sums it all up. Patience is key. God will fight for us, He will make our dreams come true, He will make sure we are provided for and taken care of if we have faith in His timing. If we calm down, pray, and remain patient, God will always see us through. So, I guess I'm just trying to remind us all to be patient. To slow down and take life one day at a time, because God knows what awesome plans He has for all of us. He's our Father, and He's always looking out for what's in our best interest, even if we don't know it at the time. So be patient, y'all. God knows what He's doing - and He's going to take care of us.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
