God Has A Plan

Just trust God.

As we get older and start planning for the future it is hard not to plan everything out exactly how you want it to happen. Pretty soon you are planning when you will get that one job, or when you will meet that certain someone, and when you will marry that someone, etc. But what happens when you get this "perfect" life all planned out, and something that was not part of your plan happens? Someone dies, you do not get that one job, you do not meet that certain someone, or that someone brakes up with you, what do you do now? We have all been in that spot, something happened that was not supposed to happen.

Well, what do you do? We get mad, start pointing fingers, and start blaming people or yourself. For me, during those times, I have a special verse that always comes to mind. That verse is Jeremiah 29:11. The verse simply says "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." That part that was not supposed to happen, happened anyway because God made it part of your plan. He has plans for each and every one of us, and all his plans are trying to make us have a wonderful future. He knows what each one of us is going to become, he knows who we are going to marry, he knows how many kids we are going to have, etc. God knows it all, believe me, or not, but he does.

I fully believe we were all born with a purpose. Some of us may not know exactly what that is at the moment, and some of us do. God has made each and every one of us with different talents and strengths and weaknesses because each and every one of us was made with a different purpose in mind. As we get older it is our job to seek God and figure out that purpose and trust him when things get a little out of order. God has this all under control, make him the boss of your life and you will start seeing great things happen.

I know my purpose is to be a teacher because of my love and talent that I have with kids. Children are my passion, and I am able to understand and work with them and be patient with them. Not very many people can say they can do the same, and once I made God the author and finisher of my life I knew what my calling was. God has a plan for my life and because I was able to figure it out, I have a good feeling knowing I am following God's plan for my life. The same thing goes for all of you, God has this amazing plan for your life.

You have to seek him, and trust him with your life and he will make your paths straight. When you hit those bumps in the road, do not give up. Trust in God because he brought you to that storm and he will lead you through it. He has a plan and he will never leave you nor forsake you. Just trust God!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
