With the New Year beginning, there are so many things that I want to implement in my life as well as what I would suggest for other people to add in their own! Let's all kick off the new year with doing some great things that inspire creative change within ourselves as well as others.

1. Discover a New Passion

Discovering a new hobby or activity can have a large impact on one's happiness. When you try something new, you can feel a new sense of accomplishment or a new feeling of joy. Even trying an old hobby that you may not have been all for years ago, can change your mindset years later! Stepping out of your comfort zone, going on a new adventure, and meeting new people can all lead to a new found hobby. Sometimes, a new hobby can even lead to a career change!

2. Start a New Fitness Goal

Losing weight is always everyone's number one priority for the start of the new year. While this is a great goal, you can also set small goals that lead up to this goal! Some examples of these are eating healthier, exercising more, or even just starting a new goal to tone your body! These small changes can present challenges, but if you have the right mindset and goals for yourself, it can be done. While it may be easy to start getting in this routine, it can be hard to keep going. Find motivation in others that will lead you to stick to your plan in the long run!

3. Volunteer Your Time To Those In Need

Volunteering is one of the best ways that you can feel good about yourself, all while helping others. Devoting your time and energy to people who may not be as fortunate is one of the nicest things you can do, as well as giving you a rewarding feeling. However, it also provides you to network and meet with other people and discover new skills you didn't know you had! It also provides an opportunity for you to build your resume. Set time aside to help those who need it, you won't regret it!

4. Travel MoreĀ

Traveling can be one of the best experiences and allows us to open our eyes to the world around us. Not only can you discover new cultures, but you can discover new things about yourself you would have never known. Traveling can also lead to new hobbies and ideas! New foods, adventures, and scenic views are just some of the many things avid travelers get to experience daily!

5. Spend Less Time on Social Media

Social media plays a large role in our society today. While it can provide many opportunities for individuals across the world today, it can also be a negative contributor. Social media has lead to many mental health problems in individuals across the world, and lowering the amount of time spent on it can prevent these problems. Spending too much time can take away from school work, a career, and quality time with family and friends. While it can be addicting, it's important to take a break and experience the world around you.

A new year is meant for new opportunities, goals, and adventures to set on for people around the world. While goals may seem unattainable at times, there is always a way to create a better tomorrow. Just remember, change can be a good thing!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
