1. We represent NYU from around the world

Since GLS students have the option to study abroad freshman and junior year, there are plenty of opportunities to show off our NYU pride while we study and explore some of the most beautiful cities in the world. If GLS had its own merchandise, I would wear my t-shirts/sweatshirts/socks everywhere.

2. We'd advertise for GLS

GLS is a global major, inviting students from around the world to apply to its program at NYU. When they go to their respective homes around the globe, these students need something to wear (especially when they're bragging about their various GLS expeditions).

3. We work with some of the most influential people in the world

The White House, the FBI, CNN, The New Yorker-- the internship opportunities are endless. GLS is one of those majors that wows people with its adaptivity and relevance in today's society. And who knows? Maybe the next time one of our classmates is featured on Chuck Shumer's Facebook page, they'll be a GLS student wearing one of the NYU Bookstore's very own GLS t-shirt.

4. Almost 100% of GLS graduates were employed or enrolled in a graduate program within six months of graduation since the major was created

The students in GLS have been highly successful in their post-NYU pursuits-- shouldn't we get these high-achievers some GLS-alum swag before we lose them to the ever-present LS clothing line?

5. We are a 4-year major

Tisch Film and TV, Tisch Drama, etc.-- majors that have their own NYU clothing line at the bookstore. And yet, GLS majors get told that LS items are for them.

"But isn't GLS the same as LS?"

No. It is not.

6. There are around 400 of us studying at NYU, which means...

There are a lot of us studying at NYU's New York campus and the plethora of study-away sites we have to choose from for our required junior year abroad.

7. ... the NYU Bookstore would make a ton of money off us

I would buy a t-shirt, a sweatshirt, sweatpants, socks, and a tote bag for every single one of my family members.

We have to write a 40-60 page thesis our senior year?!?!? Wha??? I bet I would feel better if I was wrapped in a GLS blanket to keep me warm.

10. Bottom line: We love NYU and want to show off our pride

We go to NYU, too, and are part of one of the most fun majors our school offers. It's about time we get to share with the world!
