I would absorb these trends now.

Fashion family metaphors could go kinda like this; there is a high-end fashion as a wiser elder and then there is its younger less appreciated cousin, called street style. Street style is heavily becoming important today in the influence of high-end luxury. We need to notice the trends being set outside of the united States and how they can even affect styles here.

These styles could potentially trickle up into styles used by Balenciaga, Chanel or any other luxury brand. So I would absorb these diverse styles before you see it in the next possible runway of Autumn/ Winter of 2017.

New York (Women)

Soft neutral tones emerge as colors of choice for women on the snow-covered New York streets. The overall mood leans towards a relaxed chic, ranging between elegant and casual looks. Voluminous layering is key: women pair their favorite denims with drapey blanket ponchos, long-line shacket hybrids and roomy overcoats.

New York (Men)

New York men brace chilly January streets, making a statement with multiple layering. Long tailored jackets cover layers of textural contrasts, knits, and quilted nylon, resulting in varying hemline proportions. The overall sophisticated look gets a streetwear vibe when mixed with hooded sweats and casual footwear.

Seoul (Women)

Girls in Seoul embrace bulky plush jackets to stay warm. Sueded shearlings and piled furry fleece adorn outerwear and caps alike, adding a cosy tactile update. Comfort remains key with girls easily blending sneakers with multiple outfits for casual contemporary looks.

Seoul (Men)

Young men on the streets of Seoul resort to bulky multi-layering to combat the cold. While hoods are trimmed with thick furs, suede shearling appears on jackets and caps. Overall styling is casual, mixing slim denim bottoms with chunky woolens, flannel shirts, truckers and heavy padded outerwear.

London (Women)

Women on the streets of London beat the January blues by working bold pops of color into their ensembles. Classic bottoms are paired with statement jackets or bright separates featuring vibrant mixes of pattern and color. High-contrast accessories add further fun to these eclectic, youthful looks.

London (Men)

Men in London look to strongly nostalgic retro looks for January, with colorful accessories, collegiate batches and vintage embroideries accenting black and indigo looks.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
