On Friday, August 26th we lost a wonderful person who can never be replaced, YouTuber Glenn Webb. Glenn was a famous toy reviewer and toy customizer who took reviewing toys to the next level. Not only would he go out of his way to dress up as ridiculous versions of Marvel's heroes, he made a character out of his pair of scissors, Mr. Snippety-Snip and his box cutter, Mr. Stan Lee Knife. While I never knew him personally he was someone I have watched for a long time and looked up to very much. Since his passing, there has been a Go Fund Me made in his honor to help his family pay with any financial situations that will occur due to his passing and anything else that comes up.
If you have any money to spare please donate if possible, any amount helps. The goal is set at $10K and has already gotten over $7K in just 4 days. There has also been a petition made to get a Marvel Legend’s action figure made of him, in his honor. Along with his love of Star Wars and WWE, he was a tried and true Marvel fan. This petition is currently at 1,537 signatures and rising. Normally petitions like this lead to nowhere, but this is one I hope that reaches the people of Hasbro and Marvel. His best friend and podcast partner Craig Warrack recently made a video explaining what he and the family know.
Right now Craig and Glenn’s family don’t have access to his social media pages, so nothing on there will be updated about his passing until that can happen. A few days ago a video of his did upload to YouTube, but that was programmed to happen prior to his passing. There maybe more videos but, it is currently unknown. If you search for his name on YouTube(aside from finding his own content) you will now see many videos of other reviewers who knew him and some who didn’t. What they all have in common is respect for the man who was considered a pillar of the community.
We may never know what caused his sudden death, but we can at least be assured that since it happened in his sleep, he went peacefully. Being a fan of his, the news of his passing hit me hard. A bit harder than most as it happened on the day I had to attend services of a friend and co-worker who also passed away in her sleep several days prior. I’ve since watched a few of his reviews and have several more to go that have been on backlog on my YouTube Watch later list. It’s hard but knowing that he is in a better place now brings me comfort, hopefully, it does for you as well. Glenn's passing has left a huge hole in the toy collecting and customizing community. If you don't believe me, look at all the videos other YouTuber's have made and artwork also made honoring him. He is gone but not forgotten.
Thank you for all of the fun and toy knowledge Glenn. You will be and are missed. With that, I say his famous catchphrase he ended his videos with "Mmmmm, Bye."
