Ladies, we all know how cruel we can be to one another. Which is exactly why I naturally gravitated towards having more guy friends than girls. In high school, moreso than now, but most of that is because I go to an ALL FEMALE COLLEGE!
In high school, I didn't belong to a specific group after my middle school friends and I parted ways. That's when I became a "floater". In my opinion, I floated around to different groups because I could get along with people easily. Looking back now, I became friends with guys (usually them flirting with me or something along the lines of that) and became introduced to a whole new set of people. Throughout the years, my guy friend list built to a pretty decent size.
Either out of jealousy or misunderstanding, I was often ridiculed or called a slut for having more guy friends than girlfriends. I refused to believe that it was jealousy at the time because in my eyes, I was just like everyone else, but it just pushed me further into having more guy friends altogether.
Why is it that we choose to be friends with guys rather than girls?
1. They are less drama!
Can I get an Amen! Who needs more drama in their life? Definitely not me! Guys don't care about every little thing like girls do so it makes life a little more carefree with them around.
2. If you're lucky they act like your big brother.
When you become super close to these guys, they will feel protective over you whether they intend to or not. It's kind of funny to watch sometimes! They will also start to pick on you and rough house with you like one of the boys.
3. They do athletic/outdoorsy things with you.
They are down for all the crazy adventures that some girls may not be into. I for one, love going hiking and fishing, so I always had someone to take me when my dad couldn't.
4. They don't care what you look like.
You don't have to look nice when you're hanging out with the boys. Jeans and a t-shirt or comfy athletic clothes are stylish enough for them. You'll be lucky if they even brush their hair. They won't judge you.
5. You don't have to worry about not eating because they will make sure you do!
Guys are known for thier bottomless pit appetite, so don't worry, you will get food. Plus, you can chow down on that delicious cheeseburger or wings without a second thought of how your going to look eating it becuase they won't care how messy you get.
Don't take it personally ladies, we just click better with guys sometimes.
