Girls, We're Tearing Each Other Down And It's Not OK

Girls, We're Tearing Each Other Down And It's Not OK

One thing I will never understand is girls tearing other girls down.

In a world where being a girl is hard enough, you would think girls would know better than to be mean to each other. Being a girl is the most difficult thing to do this day and age.

You have so much pressure to be beautiful, kind, obedient and you have to live in this certain structured box. You feel judged and looked down upon when you do something out of the norm or do not measure up to society's standards.

We live in a world where makeup and hair extensions are valued more than intelligence and charisma. What a sad world to be in. While dealing with this world, I still can not seem to grasp how girls are still mean to each other. You are supposed to lift each other up, not bring them down. What is wrong with us? Are we all so jealous and insecure that we can not be happy for each other?

There is nothing I love more than complimenting my girlfriends. Not only on their looks but on their minds, or their hobbies, almost anything and everything. You supporting other girls is going to do absolutely nothing to your own self except possibly make you feel like a better person. It hurts my heart when I see girls saying things about one another. Didn't your parents teach you not to say anything if you don't have anything nice to say?

It boggles my mind.

We need to give more love out in this universe. If you give one compliment a day to a girl, whether it be your friend, your sister or even a stranger, the world would be such a better place. We need to celebrate how beautifully unique we all are and cheers to being a girl and how each and every one of us is stunning inside and out.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
