We live in a world of slut-shamers. Now, some people may think the slut-shaming is a made up concept, but it's not. It's real, and it needs to stop. Slut shaming is the act of criticizing a woman for her real or presumed sexual activity, or for behaving in ways that someone thinks are associated with her real or presumed sexual activity. The worst offenders of slut shaming are, unfortunately, women. Women calling other women sluts is unacceptable.
First, when women call other women sluts, it makes it okay for men to call women sluts. We expect men to respect us, but before we can expect that, we have to respect ourselves, and we have to respect each other.
Second, it tears other women down, and as a woman, you should be trying to build other women up. That's the only way we are going to evolve.
Women call other women sluts for all sorts of reasons that I, for one, can't understand. If a girl talks to another girl's boyfriend, she is called a slut -- without knowing the context of the conversation or the girl's story, she is called a slut. If a girl has sex, she is called a slut. A girl who has sex with people calls another girl who has sex with people a slut (and seriously, why is it any of your business?). If a girl likes a guy, but the guy likes another girl, that other girl is called a slut. Doesn't "slut" in this case kind of lose meaning anyway? Any girl who does anything another girl doesn't like gets called a slut. Where's the logic in that!?
The word is demeaning, rude, spiteful. As women, we should be sticking together to rid the world of sexism, not calling each other sluts out of jealousy or rudeness.
Women need to stop calling other women sluts.
what's the point?
Why don't we do something more useful with our words?
Fill the world with kindness. spread some love instead of hate. sing a song or something.
