Dear Girl,
It's the second semester of college. The classes are new, the people are all different, your schedule is flipped upside down, and your sleep schedule is non-existent. But that's okay, because most of your floormates and your friends are in the same boat. Except, they're getting out of that boat slowly but surely. And you're still stuck.
You have been since the first quarter and it doesn't seem like you'll ever get out of this rut you got yourself into. The constant cycle of getting overwhelmed, not doing anything about it, staying awake until 5am to pick up your slack, feeling good about doing your work, start a new week, and repeat. Since school started, you constantly questioned if you made the right decision going to this school. You still question yourself to this day, and it's really starting to take a toll on you. I wish you could see all the good that has come out of this decision, and all the fun you've had since coming here.
You met so many amazing people and got to experience some really cool things all under 4 months. I know, it's hard to enjoy what's around you when you constantly stressed and overwhelmed. I understand that those emotions overshadow everything, but there are people willing to help you! You know so many wonderful people that are just waiting for you to come to them, waiting for you to accept their help. Whether you accept it today, tomorrow, weeks, or months later, just know that they don't mind waiting. They understand that you're stuck, that your emotions strike first and then you act second.
It's okay to be stuck, it's okay to have days where you can't do anything, it's okay to not like college and question what led up to you choosing this school. It's okay. But I think it's time you leaned back and reflected on how you have changed these past couple of months. You’d be surprised. You'd be proud. So to the girl that's still stuck in College, it's okay.
You'll be just fine.
