Ah, "Gilmore Girls": everyone's favorite quick-witted comedy/drama.
It has been almost nine long years since we've last visited Stars Hallow, and the Gilmore girls are back! This time around, the show will be streaming on Netflix and will most likely premiere sometime this fall or winter, as production is scheduled to wrap May 10. Recently, new information and photos were released from the set. Here's everything you need to know!
The four-episode revival is tentatively titled "Gilmore Girls: Seasons" and will revolve around the seasons of the calendar year.
The episodes, or "mini movies" as some are calling them, are each 90 minutes long. Similar to the original "Gilmore Girls," the time of year will be important to the storyline. I think we are all most excited for fall in Stars Hallow... bring on the leaves and pumpkin pie!
Most of your favorite characters will be returning.
Lauren Graham will return as Lorelai, Alexis Bledel as Rory, Scott Patterson as Luke, Kelly Bishop as Emily, Liza Weil as Paris (yay!), Melissa McCarthy as Sookie (this was recently confirmed!), Sean Gunn as Kirk, Rose Abdoo as Gypsy and more!
Photos from present-day Stars Hallow have recently been released, giving us a glimpse into the storyline.
Is it just me, or has no one aged?
This photo better mean that Luke and Lorelai are married, or there will be a lot of angry fans out there.
Witty banter over cups of coffee and Chinese takeout—just like old times!
This photo is causing debate over Rory's career. Is she an English teacher? Is this Chilton? Or is she simply a guest speaker, invited to discuss her exciting career as a journalist following Barack Obama? So many possibilities.
I have a feeling that Kirk will have a starring role in this musical.
Aw, Luke! Looks like he's finally given in to town meetings.
Possibly discussing the DAR?
No matter what plot twists this revival has in store for us, I think we can all agree that this is the best news we've heard in a while. Time to prepare by binge-watching Seasons 1 through 7 on Netflix!
