Many people believe they do not have the right qualifications to make a difference in this world. They believe that a person has to do something as significant as Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Theresa, or another big name activist to accomplish changing the world for the better. However, the simple reality is that a person does not need the name of fame to make a difference. We are all placed on earth to contribute positivity to the world in our own unique way. It does not have to be pursued through some enormous task.
What matters most is not the size of the contribution, but the heart behind whatever contribution is made.
Little efforts, even something as simple as smiling at someone, can change an attitude for the better. If every person on this earth starts small, imagine the copious amounts of goodness we could bring to the world and the people that reside in it! Empowering other people is possibly the greatest and most effective thing humans can do to better each other. We are often times too involved in our own self-satisfaction that we don’t take the time to realize the needs of others. It is in our nature to constantly crave gratification from others, but in order to receive it, we must spread the love and happiness that we are desiring for ourselves.
To make an impact on the lives of others we must give them value, purpose, and love by encouraging them and offering random acts of kindness.
Alongside doing things to make a difference, we should also seek to influence others to do the same good. Outwardly expressing our good works helps us to lead by example and influence others to change the world. No matter how big or small, every effort counts. It takes one person to create the domino effect of love and compassion for each other.
So start spreading love rather than hate.
It’s a lot easier said than done, but something as easy as holding your tongue when wanting to say something negative or randomly texting a friend that you love them can make more of a difference than you realize. These simple things can grow and flourish to create an atmosphere of love for this world. This creates the foundation of being a world changer. You don’t have to be another Gandhi or Mother Theresa. Just be you!
