Getting Ready To Go Out, Explained In GIFs

Everyone knows that getting ready for a special occasion is a pain in the butt. It can be extremely fun, and extremely stressful all at the same time. Getting yourself ready is a process, an incredibly long process that can only be explained through GIFs:

You’ll First Need a Nap

You know you’ll have a long night of getting ready ahead of you, so it’s best to catch up on some beauty sleep first. The amount of time, patience, and energy to get yourself in tiptop shape deserves a good ol’ nap before you begin your mission.

Next Up: Shower

In order to fully wake up from your blissful sleep, a shower is mandatory. This is the time to start playing some pump-up music to get ready for whatever the night has in store. You still have a long ways away until whatever important event is coming up, so relax!

First Big Decision: How Will You Do Your Hair?

Like every other part of getting ready, there are so many options when doing your hair. Do you straighten it, curl it, or go au naturel? You could also braid it, scrunch it, wear it up, or wear it down. Ugh, I’m exhausted just thinking about all of these choices, and it’s only the beginning.

Now It’s Time for Make Up

Okay, no one wakes up #flawless except for Beyonce. So, if you’re like the rest of the world, makeup is a necessity. There are so many options and trends to keep up with, which makes doing your makeup too darn stressful. It involves several trials and errors of having to match your eyebrows, eye shadow, eyeliner, and making sure everything else is blended into perfection.

What on Earth Are You Going to Wear?

At first, you’re excited to pick out your outfit for the night. With endless amounts of colors, styles, and choices, where’s a girl to start? Well, you first have to consider the type of event you’re going to. Is it a formal sit-down dinner with super important people? Is it an incredibly cute date to the aquarium or zoo? And…you must feel 100 percent confident in whatever you wear. You spent a lot of time getting ready, and your outfit selection should reflect that!

Accessorize, Accessorize, ACCESSORIZE!

Prepare yourself, because we are now entering crunch time. At this point in the game, you have maybe 20 minutes left to get yourself ready, because, be honest, it took you twice as long as expected to choose your outfit. As if picking out an outfit wasn’t hard enough, you have to find the right shoes and jewelry to match! Are a ring, bracelet, necklace, and earrings too much? Maybe yes, maybe no, it all depends on what mood you’re in that day. Accessorizing is a lot harder than it seems, so I appreciate everyone who makes the time for it, and so should you.

Ready or Not, It’s Time to Go

You have less than five minutes before your ride is leaving, but DON’T PANIC! The stress of getting yourself to this point is all behind you. Your hair is done, your makeup is on point, and your outfit is lookin’ good. Take one last look in the mirror, spritz some perfume, and go on your merry way!

Clearly, some of us (okay, mainly girls) take a lot of time to prepare for an important occasion. With all of the choices we face when getting ready, it’s understandable why we tend to run late. Next time you’re waiting on a girl to get ready, please appreciate her hard work, instead of getting annoyed. Besides, if she looks as flawless as Beyonce when she’s done, why does it matter how long she took anyway?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
