It's the weekend -- the days you've been waiting for since Monday morning. You have an array of things to fill your weekend: brunch with friends, shopping, reading a new book, starting a new Netflix series, exploring a neighborhood park, and of course -- going out. It's all fun and games while you're out and about with friends, meeting new people and enjoying drinks and music. But when do we ever talk about the preparation that goes into actually stepping out the door in your party dress? Before you go out, you have to get ready, and having experienced this process many times, it's not easy for us chicks.
1. This is how we women wish getting ready was like:
2. Easy-peasy, piece of cake. The goal is to walk away flawless, but before you feel confident enough to meet up with your friends in town, you hit a lot of snags. Your heating tool won't get hot. You have chipped nails that need a fresh coat of paint. Your eyeliner on your left eye is better than your right.
3. At several moments during your process of getting ready you want to chop off your hair when it doesn't cooperate.
4. You only wish that you had personal assistants and friends that could wait on you hand and foot.
5. But when you are getting ready with friends, you often get sidetracked while gossiping about the latest friend drama, which actually just makes it a lot harder to get ready.
6. Just before stepping out the door you use some finishing spray to set your makeup in place, knowing very well that it'll just sweat off in an hour.
7. You try to make your clothes as wrinkle-free as possible with the limited tools you have while side-stepping all the other outfits on the floor you just tried on.
8. You do a final jig to dry your nails; you're starting to get pumped for your night out.
9. You spruce up your hair one last time.
10. You take a few hundred selfies to get the right angle, which you never do.
11. And then you check the time and you're of course running late.
