Coming into college as a freshman, everything is new, hopeful, and slightly frightening. The first club fair serves as a way to show just how much there is to do on campus. And as an excited newcomer I signed up for everything.
I quickly learned that I didn't actually want to do everything. But there were few things that got me excited to get involved in my school.
Being in a club isn't all fun and games, there is a lot of work involved and a lot of events to attend. And it's not all about having something that looks good on your resume. It's about making changes and making initiatives to move your group forward and open up opportunities for others.
Getting involved is rewarding and it will make you feel like you're actually contributing to something that is bigger than yourself.
I encourage everyone to get involved in their school and see how much it changes you. It will allow you to see so many wonderful things, and experience so much. It will make you a better citizen of your school and a further elaborated version of yourself.
