Dear President Trump,
Ever since your campaign for presidency, us Americans have seen the rapid decline in unification in this country. Hate is spreading like wildfire and you’re the one holding the match.
How are we supposed to look up to you as a leader when we are mostly living in fear? We are constantly wondering, “What will he say/do next?”
You aren’t doing anything beneficial for our country, but your ego is at an all-time high.
From Climate Change to Healthcare, you have continued to disappoint millions of Americans. Women are about to be screwed over when it comes to their healthcare benefits, mental health is going to be a thing of the past, and our climate is only going to destroy our planet more and more every day.
And our public safety? What a joke.
You revoked a bill mandating that those with a history of mental illnesses need to get a background check in order to purchase a gun. How many more innocent people need to die in mass shootings before you wake up? How many more mentally ill people are going to be allowed to purchase guns before you understand that you enabled this recent mass shooting to occur?
And as for women’s healthcare?
One thing you’re doing right is not covering birth control because women won’t need it; they have you. Why would any woman want to bring an innocent child into a world where you are president of the country she lives in? You are the best form of birth control that this country has ever seen.
You spend more time calling out news stations for their “fake news” yet your claims to help Puerto Rico during their time of crisis is just as fake. They are U.S. territory and you refuse to send help.
Why? Because they aren’t physically close enough for you to torment with your incompetence?
There is an entire country without power, food, and resources, yet what are you doing about it? Playing golf? Tweeting about absolute crap and nonsense?
Well, according to you, Puerto Rico has really messed up the budget, yet you have played enough golf since the beginning of your term and those funds could have been saved for Natural Disasters. You have solely turned the Republican Party, as well as many of your own supporters in this country, against you.
Do you not see that you are the problem? (P.S. climate change is the reason behind all of these hurricanes/natural disasters but I forgot that climate change is “fake news” even though it is scientifically proven to be a problem.)
What I don’t understand is how the mass shooting in Las Vegas is an “act of pure evil” but the Charlottesville riots weren’t?
How are white supremacists good people?
Just because they haven’t physically killed anyone doesn’t make their threats and hate acceptable.
Mr. President, you have proven to your people that you only care about the power at your fingertips and not the wellbeing of our nation. You don’t care about the arguments and protests that you cause. We have the right to Freedom of Speech.
It’s in our Constitution.
But the Freedom of Speech does come with consequences and you seem to believe that you are exempt from any, and all, consequences for your words and actions. Yet other people deserve to be fired? No. Wake up.
In America’s Pledge of Allegiance, it states, “One Nation, under God. Indivisible,” yet we as a nation are more divided than ever before.
And the continuous spread of Hate isn’t helping in any way, shape, or form. We divide further and further and we forget who, as a nation, we used to be.
We used to be strong enough to stand up against terrorism.
We used to be reliable enough to aid any and all of those who needed help in a timely manner.
We used to be a country that other countries looked up to, and now we are a country that is laughed at because of our president.
Do us Americans a favor and get off of Twitter, get off of the golf course, and start acting like the president that this country deserves to have. While a mass majority of this country wants you out of office, we can’t always have what we want.
So, work with us. Work for us.
Help bring our country back together, make beneficial decisions for the men and women of your country, but most importantly, set your ego to the side. This presidency isn’t about you. It’s about us Americans and ensuring that our nation is a harmonious place to live.
Sincerely,
A Not So Proud American Who Wants Change
