George Fox University does not have a Greek system, but if it did, Hobson second floor would be the top sorority. We’ve been calling ourselves the Hob2hotties since day one, and it’s a name that will remain with us for the rest of our days. We may live in the oldest dorm on campus, but we’re the freshest chicks in town. We are all unique, yet we all get along like we were made for each other. There are a few things that you need to know about Hob2hottie culture.

1. We’re a bunch of weirdos.

2. If you hear a “caw-caw,” that just means there’s a boy on the floor.

This is just a precaution so no one walks out of a room without any pants on.

3. We call our RA "Mom".

Sam is our college mom. She takes care of her children. Fire drill? She’ll throw us all on her back and carry us out the door to safety. Dinner time? All our nutrition needs are being met because Mamma don’t eat until her chicks are fed.

4. We are the first in line at every event on campus.

The free fanny packs and T-shirts given out before dances and games; we all have them.

5.We don’t just show up, we throw down.

We dive head first into every event on campus. Our hearts are always in it to win it. This stands for the whole HMS community. However, we give major props to our fellow Hob2hottie, Emily Loyd, for winning the Bruin Brawl for us.

Whether we're in the classroom, on the quad, or in the hallway, we're brawling babes representing some of the best that George Fox University has to offer. Hob2hotties are a group of beautiful young ladies with promising futures. We are all a family in this community. We fiercely love our Bruins.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
