17 Grand Canyon University Eateries, Ranked

The best and the worst.

The school year is in full swing in beautiful Lope Country and the town is painted purple! With all of our lopes safely back on campus, it's time to get down to business.

By business, I should be talking about studying, but I am, in fact, talking about eating. Studying and going to class is fine, but none of this would be possible without the proper nutrition. I'm sure my fellow lopes would agree.

This is why I've ranked all the eateries on campus so you will know where to go when you need breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a tasty snack! There are many places to go but here is my ultimate list.

17. Urban Center Cafe

This place is kind of weird. It does have more "home cooked" food options, but I am not a fan. Everything looks kind of mushy and strange. Sorry Urban, you come in last.

16. Panda Express

I didn't want to rank Panda so low. Really. I love Chinese food and I think Panda tastes absolutely delicious, but it is not easy on the stomach. Panda makes most people I know sick to their stomachs and for that, they rank pretty low.

15. Auntie Anne's

Once again. Delicious. I personally love Auntie Annes, but I never ever see anyone go there. It is always empty and so on behalf of the lopes, I rank these pretzels low.

14. Taco Thunder (The Taco Cart)

These tacos aren't bad, but once again, everyone I talk to claims these tacos make them sick. I've only had them a few times and thought they were pretty good, but not great.

13. Market Bistro

I was really excited about this place. Unfortunately, it was kind of disappointing. The sandwiches were alright, but not fantastic and I am not really a fan of boba (sorry everyone!).

12. GCBC

I want to love GCBC, and I do love the atmosphere, but the coffee just isn't that great. I go there to sit and study, but the coffee is subpar.

11. Subway

Subway is good. Just good. The line can be insane, especially after chapel and the service is sometimes a little slow. Sorry Subway.

10. Einstein's

Here's where you get better coffee. Bagels are good. Coffee is good. I wouldn't sit there to study or anything, but it's alright.

9. Canyon 49

Canyon 49 is really awesome, but it's off campus and it's expensive. If it was on campus and cheaper, it would be higher on this list.

8. Lean Canteen

Lean Canteen has amazing healthy food options, but it's a little too out of the way for my liking. I always forget about it and never feel up to walking all the way to the Arena to eat.

7. The Habit

Maybe this should be ranked higher, because it is amazing! The fries are especially good.

6. Slices

Last year I wouldn't have ranked Slices this high, but this year is different. This year they have personal pizzas that you can customize yourself and it is fantastic. Yay Slices!

5. Zoyo

Maybe they don't have complete meals, but Zoyo is a great snack or dessert. Delicious hands down.

4. Fresh Fusion

I love Fresh Fusion because it is healthy and delicious. It's not always fast, but the wait is kind of worth it.

3. Jamba Juice

Jamba Juice is my go to place. Their smoothie bowls are amazing and they are always delicious.

2. Qdoba

Qdoba never fails. Burritos, tacos, bowls, and chips are all good all the time. Always go to Qdoba.

1. Chick-fil-a

Number one in all lopes hearts is Chick-fil-a. Chick-fil-a always hits the spot and makes us feel warm and fuzzy. We love you Chick-fil-a, even if you are closed on Sunday.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
