To My Future daughter, I want you to know that you are loved

I hope to be half of what my mom was to me

I want you to know that you're loved.

I want you to know that you're more than enough.

Growing up is hard. But, I want you to know that I had to go through it too. I want to be there for you when you lose your forever friend, or at least you thought forever. I want to be there when you get your heart broken for the first, second, or even third time... I want to be there when you pick out your outfit for your first date. I want to be there when you choose your prom dress. I want to be there for every step, just like my mom was.

I want you to love your dad. I want you to ask dad when you know I'll say no. I want you to know that your dad will love you first until a lucky guy comes along to take care of you the way he did. I want you to have a relationship with your siblings. I want you to have each other's back. I want you to grow up together and have each other when I no longer can be there.

I want you to know that girls can be mean and boys take forever... and ever to grow up. I want you to know that what other people think or say about you, does not define you. I want you to know that you don't need to wear makeup to look pretty, but you can wear as much makeup as you want. I want you to know that you don't need to straighten or curl your hair to be pretty. I want you to know that boys don't always mean what they say, but that doesn't mean they are all the same. I want you to know that girls can be judgmental, but that doesn't make their opinions relevant.

I want you to know that you will make mistakes. So did I and I still do. I want you to know that I already forgive you. I want you to know that you can tell me anything. I cannot promise that I will not get mad, but I will not hold it against you. I want you to know that you can call me anytime, any day. I want you to know that you never ever annoy me, even with the "stupid" things you will be worried about.

I want to be your shopping buddy, your encourager, your protector, your best friend, your drunk ride home, your fixer of a broken heart, your spontaneous travel buddy. I want to be the best mom possible.

Growing up is hard. Being a girl is hard. But, you're not alone. I can't wait to be your mom, but I am not in a hurry. I can only pray to be half the mom that my mom was to me. At least you will get blessed with the best grandma and grandpa ever.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
