1. Go to a pumpkin patch/carve a pumpkin!
This is one of the most obvious activities, but is so easily overlooked. Going and picking out a pumpkin from a patch, carving it, and then of course Instagramming it is SO much fun.
2. Curl up a read a good book.
I love a good book as much as the next person. There is nothing quite as comforting as getting cozy and reading a good book. This activity can definitely be done both indoors and outdoors.
3. Baking!
Whether your idea of baking is getting some scratch goods together and whipping up a pie, or ordering a pie from the shop down the street, warm comfort food is the absolute best when it is chilly outside.
4. Go on a haunted tour.
This activity is definitely more fun with friends! There is nothing quite like getting lost in a spooky corn maze or haunted house with a group of friends.
5. Attend/host a bonfire. What else is there to do outside when it gets dark at six p.m.? Definitely cozy up in a flannel and some boots by a huge bonfire outside. Bonus – it is way more fun if s’mores are involved.
6. Go hiking!
Of course this one is only fun when the weather is not brutal, but taking a hike outside either alone or with friends to look at the beautiful fall scenery is always a good time. Include a picnic under a beautiful tree for an extra good time.
7. Go on a coffee/tea date.
Whether you enjoy coffee or tea, a hot drink will definitely warm you up on that chilly fall day. Whether you need some peace and quiet or want to catch up with an old friend, this is always a wonderful idea.
8. Go shopping!
Ultimately, my favorite past time. I spend way too many cold days shopping and updating my fall wardrobe. Whether you are window shopping or buying new clothes, you can never go wrong with spending the day shopping. Whether it’s online or at a shopping center!
9. Watching Netflix.
Of course, it is cold outside and you, under no circumstances, want to leave your bed. Who cares if you spend 8 hours watching Gossip Girl? It’s cold outside. You’re allowed.
10. Go to a football game!
If you are from the South like me, you understand how big of a deal football it. Whether it is those Friday night lights, Saturday’s at your favorite college, or Sunday watching the professional game anywhere, you can never go wrong with football. A football game is always a fun group idea!
Of course these are only a few things to do, but they are so much fun! Whether it is with friends, a significant other, or by yourself, you cannot go wrong with simple activities.
