Fun Ways to Come Out

June is known for Pride month and what better way to talk about ways you are able to come out of the closet. I am bisexual and came out of the closet back in 2016.

Even though coming out is scary, here are some fun ways to come out of the closet!

1- Change your ringtone to "I'm Coming Out" By Diana Ross

This song states that you are coming out and when someone calls you, dance to it! Be happy about you coming out! It is your day!

2- Get some skittles and say you have tasted the rainbow.. EMBRACE IT!

Do I need to even say anything about this one?

3- Come out of an actual closet and just say "Sorry I just came out of the closet"

Your coming out and are actually coming out out a closet. Nothing more simpler than that :)

4- Order rainbow balloons to your house

SURPRISE!

5- Make it a milestone on your facebook

I came out on facebook after telling a few people. But make it a milestone this is a new thing about you that you should love!

6- Practice saying it to your dog

Any animal will work in this situation. Just go up to them and say I am gay, bisexual, trans, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual etc. and your animal will still love you no matter what

7 Have someone else do it for you

Someone else? You heard that right! There are man videos that are on YouTube that talk about coming out that you can share with friends and family. It will make it a lot easier if you do not want to do it yourself.

8. When all else fails make goodies

We all know dessert is our weakness point. So bring on the cupcakes and write "I'm (sexuality)" Nothing better than coming out while eating delicious food.

9- Film it

The best type of reactions are when they are filmed. Watching people film them coming out to family members may inspire you to come out to your friends and family as well. The reactions are amazing <3

10- Always be yourself do

This is one of the most important things to always remember, being yourself! There will always be people who will judge you but just know, you are you, and you are awesome. Nothing wrong with being who you are! Love who you are becoming!

Coming outdoes not have to be super scary, trying fun and creative ways can make it more fun to and can bring a smile to your face as long as you are happy to be you. Time to show people who you are! Good luck and happy pride month!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
