Summer is upon us, and with the coming season comes tons of fun activities. Except, after a while, those fun activities can start to lose their luster, and before you know it you're just sitting inside under the AC waiting for work and classes to start back. So, if your summer is turning into a bummer, here's a few fun and unusual ways to spice it up a little.

1. Make a summer bucket list.

Maybe it's a bucket list of all the places you want to eat this summer, or all the new foods you want to try or places you want to visit. Either way, with a few friends, a summer bucket list can be the perfect way to spice up your summer.

2. Try all those DIYs you've been pinning on Pinterest.

Of course, it doesn't have to be successful, but making some new room decor or sprucing up a few old shirts can be the perfect way to add a little more fun into your summer.

3. Read all those books you've been meaning to get to.

Giphy

I know, I know. You've been meaning to read that book your friend lent you a few months ago for months now. Now, she's asking for that book back, and you've forgotten you had it in the first place. So, give it a few more days, and read a few books this summer.

4. Go camping.

I know, you probably thought I was going to tell you to go to the beach, or the mountains maybe, really anything besides camping, but with a few friends and a little creativity, camping can be just the thing to spice up your summer, and no, you don't have to wear a Snuggie.

5. Watch a drive-in movie.

Nothing beat a classic trip to see a movie at the drive-in, and if you've never gone before, then this is the perfect thing to add to your summer bucket list.

6. Go birding.

Giphy

I've never been personally, but I have had a friend go bird watching and absolutely love it. So, if you're in the market to do something fun this summer that you've probably never done before, then this could be just the thing for you.

7. Make homemade ice cream.

Giphy

Okay, okay. It doesn't have to be homemade, but if you're like me, and you like to put your cooking and DIY skills to the test every now and again, then homemade ice cream can be a fun way to cool off this summer, and something a little different from the usual store-bought stuff.

8. Go on a road trip.

Giphy

Grab a few friends (and maybe a cute pup), and go on a summer road trip! It doesn't have to be far or too crazy, but just getting in the car and out of your usual area is enough to have more than a little fun. Besides, a little adventure never hurt anyone.

9. Grab some shades and catch some rays.

Giphy

If all else fails, spending some time in the sun is a sure fire way to have a little fun, and remind you that it is indeed summer. So go get a little tan, jump in a pool if you have one, and spend some time outdoors.

10. Have a fun night in with friends.

Giphy

Make some food, watch a movie, do whatever you want, but don't forget to have a little fun.

So go out and have some fun. Remember to spice up your summer!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
