To: The Expecting Mother

You made the best choice for your health and for your babies! Jesus took the wheel!

To: The expecting mother,

Did you really believe the doctors when they said "You won't have children and if you do, I would be surprised if you or the baby make it full term?"

Years ago we should have looked at them and said "Well, if that's my destiny...why don't you just cut the cord now?"
Mama, we are so happy for you! You will be a great mother and already are! Look at you beating the odds, a walking testimony! Don't let what's to come shift you. Don't allow your dignity to diminish! You control your energy!

As your sisters in motherhood, we have to admit it's hard to not get caught up in the jealousy that we feel at times during baby fever. All of the beautiful women in your mid 20's, mid 30's starting your pregnancies off on the right foot and enjoying the nostalgia...we envy you. When I say we, I'm speaking for those of us who've already had children or lost or have had a full hysterectomy.

Personally, loved being pregnant! I felt my most self worth, I was enough. I was comfortable in my own skin even when I was stretched too thin. (Literally) Knowing as soon as a pregnancy ended I would eventually down spiral into self doubt and inconsistencies, and medical tribulations.
However, we need to remind ourselves that were just in a moment right now and you won't stay here too long, and I'm really proud of how far you've come! A full hysterectomy does not mean your worth has been taken from you! Don't be a victim, stand up and deal! You made the best choice for your health and for your babies! Jesus took the wheel!

If you or someone you know if suffering from (any stigma surrounding emotional instability, medical mishaps, post hysterectomy, mental health, mania, addiction, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, cycle breaking, PTSD, depression, PPD, miscarriage even the A word) or need to vent we would love to learn all angles! Let's fellowship, come together and talk! We will listen and speak only words of positivity, humor & compassion! We are in this together! You are not a walking diagnosis! You are not alone, these insecurities do not define you!

Love,

The group of women who will never be able to say "I'm expecting too!" However, we will stand up for you against all mom shamers and jugmental trolls.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

There have been many lessons learned.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
