It’s been more than a year now since the idiot we call our president has taken office. During this time, he not only has made decisions that have threatened the livelihoods of many people in America but also has repeatedly shown that he is racist, sexist and a bigot.

At the most recent United Nations meeting, Trump’s official claimed that the US is a “pro-life nation.” He also pushed abstinence policies in education and asked for the removal of contraception. The cherry on top is the official who said all of this was Bethany Kozma, a senior adviser for gender equality and women’s empowerment.

When I first read an article about this, I laughed. There is no way in hell that someone who is an adviser for gender equality can support policies like these. These policies that Trump is pushing are in no way working in women’s favor. They strip away choices that we should be making about own our bodies.

Also, by teaching abstinence in education, children are going to be less knowledgeable about how to practice safe sex and will put themselves in unknown situations, thus creating unwanted pregnancies or other dangers.

Furthermore, if you read my past article, you know exactly how I feel about contraception. So many people rely on contraception for a wide variety of reasons. It’s not just used to practice safe sex (even though that is extremely important). It can be used to regulate periods, control acne, and just have overall better reproductive health.

Finally, he, just like all Republican presidents, is pushing for more anti-abortion laws to be put in place and eventually wants abortion to be completely banned in the US. I think this is straight up bullshit.

I am in no way ashamed to say that I am pro-choice. I believe that you have the right to get an abortion and that it’s your choice because it’s your body. Trump and his fucked up administration want to take that right away.

There are so many pregnancies that could pose threats to the mother’s health and just unwanted pregnancies in general. I know that if I got pregnant as a freshman in college, I would 100% have an abortion.

Obviously, I know that many people don’t feel the same way about it and I’m totally okay with that. I’m just voicing my own opinion.

I think that Trump’s policies are complete bullshit. Everything that he has done so far has shown how shitty he as a human being is.

I don’t care who you are, but if you support Trump, how do you ignore the fact that he is a disgusting human? The fact that he is endorsed by the fucking KKK? The fact that he is so incredibly sexist and calls women derogatory terms? The fact that he is stripping away citizenship from people who deserve to live here? The fact that he is building a fucking wall to keep out people who just want to escape their dangerous homes?

I could go on and on. I don’t care what the justification is, but everyone must open their eyes to the fact that Trump’s policies are in no way helping the United States.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
