Kirk Gleason, a quirky and sometimes downright strange man, has done it all in Stars Hollow. From owning Yummy Bartenders to walking dogs to being a woman of questionable morals, there is not an odd job he hasn’t had or attempted. But out of all of his jobs, I would say there is one that he did best: he was a really good friend.
These are my five reasons why Kirk from "Gilmore Girls" is #FriendshipGoals.
1. He’s fun loving and authentic.
Kirk is a gem. He is such a unique person and he never tries to be something he isn’t. He is down to earth, awkward and able to make jokes at all times, some even at his own expense.
2. He’s loyal.
Not to his jobs! But to the people of Stars Hollow.
Kirk is incredibly loyal to his friends, especially to his girlfriend, Lulu. Many of the jobs Kirk chooses are to help his friends in town. In season four, episode four "Chicken or Beef?" Kirk is a security alarm installer, who just wants everyone to feel safe. He somehow got a little golf cart/car to drive around town in to make everyone feel more safe.
3. He’s honest.
Even when it is unappreciated, Kirk is honest. Sometimes painfully so, but that is who his is and it’s a part of his authenticity. Some of Kirk's best lines come from when he is being uncomfortably honest.
4. He’s always there when he is needed, or not needed.
Kirk is literally everywhere, doing everything.
In "Women of Questionable Morals," Kirk's girlfriend Lulu gets sick and can't perform in the town re-enactment, so he takes her place. He dresses up as the woman in order to save the re-enactment.
5. He would do anything for the people he cares about.
Kirk is a special soul and he made "Gilmore Girls" that much more fun to watch. His genuine personality, caring heart and concern for the town made him one of the most loved characters in Stars Hollow. I personally can't wait to see what he is doing the the revival!
