The Color of Friendship

I am taking the time this week to really take notice the  friends, and the friendship I share with each. I think the reason for this is because I am moving from my apartment to a new house on campus next year. The people that I live with now are some of my best friends, and the people I will be living with in the summer are also my best friends. It's cool because I will be introducing these apartment friends to my new house friends. I don't if that made any sense, but it just made me realize how much I love these people. They are all so special and interestingly weird in their own way. I guess that is what makes them my friends.

Friendship is something very near and dear to my heart. It is something that every one in the world can obtain. So I decided to list some things that I think are what friendship is.

1. Beautiful. Sounds redundant, but it's the truth.

2. Cherished.

3. Being truthful with one another.

4. Sharing secrets together about whatever and whomever.

5. Not talking about the other behind their back  because that is just downright disrespectful).

6. Motivating each other (with regards to the gym).

7. Un-motivating each other (with regards to the gym).

8. Eating copious amounts of food

9. Going to the bathroom with the door open and speaking to each other casually

10. Laughing non-stop about stupid things.

11. Laughing about pretty much nothing.

12. Fighting over stupid things and then making up in 10 minutes because you realized you were both in the wrong.

13. Laying in each other's beds when the other is not home.

14. Being completely silent and comfortable in a car ride and then realizing you need to speak to each other five minutes into the ride.

15. Singing terribly to one another.

16. Trying to out sing each other, which is probably just as bad.

17. Having adventures with each other.

18. Taking care of the other when they are sick.

19. Being sick together and soaking up each other's sickness.

20. Complaining to each other about life.

21. Trying to make the other feel better when it comes to boys.

22. Admiring boys together.

23. Listening -- the most important rule of all.

Friends can come in small and large sizes, black or white (or any other ethnicity) -- it does not matter. Friends are loyal to you and can be real with you, which is the most important thing about a friendship.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
