Happy November, it's finally the season to eat turkey and give thanks!

Now that Thanksgiving break is quickly approaching, the time is now to start planning your annual Friendsgiving dinner with all your hometown friends! You have been separated for so long, and an event like this is a perfect way to remind one another how important your friendship is, and how thankful you are for one another.

As each year passes, there are so many ways to improve your Friendsgiving and make it even more special! Here are 10 trendy ways to incorporate into your dinner this Thanksgiving season to make it the most memorable time spent at home yet!

1. Guests bring homemade entre's only instead of pre-packaged store bought food

Time to show off your mediocre college cooking skills! By bringing hot meals previously prepped at home rather than quickly picking something pre-made at the store in the box, you are adding to the home-cooked, warm atmosphere a home should have on Thanksgiving. Doing this adds a feeling of togetherness that the host and guests put in hard work into making this dinner happen.

2. Decoration time, lets get festive!

What better way to make any home feel in tune with the holidays than decorating for the season! Adding some pumpkins, fall color accented leaves around the house, and a warm color wreath on the front door is a perfect way to add the feeling of fall into any home.

3. Add some seasonal table settings to set the Thanksgiving mood!

As we become older and begin to hold our own traditions with family, friends, and loved ones, we start to pay more attention to detail. In order for any event to look put together, an overall theme of decor needs to be followed and carried out properly! By adding the detail of seasonal table settings, you will not only be keeping up with the theme of your event, but also add in a nice, mature touch to the dinner overall.

4. Who doesn't love a good fall scented candle?

If you add in a pumpkin vanilla scented candle (my personal favorite scent!) you will easily add in some extra warmth to this event! Candles have a strange way of bringing people together, so incorporating this detail into your Friendsgiving will set the mood and keep your guests refreshed and relaxed!

5. Music is always a necessity to an event

Friendsgiving wouldn't be a party without some music! Depending on your taste, you can incorporate some seasonal music that will fit the aesthetic of the dinner, or some typical today's top hits. Not only can your friends mingle with one another, but you can also sing along to some of your favorite tunes while doing so!

6. Provide boxes for leftovers for extra hungry guests

When more than one guest brings a homemade entry, there will definitely be some leftovers! Providing plastic boxes or containers for guest to have the ability to bring home some extra food is a perfect way to clear space in your fridge so it is not overflowing.

7. Dress for success this Friendsgiving with your cutest Autumn OOTD

You always want to look your best during the holiday season! Wearing some of the trending fall outfit accessories like scarves, turtlenecks or fall colored jacket will not only keep you warm during these exceptionally chilly days, but also look cute for any event with your friends!

8. Create a picture-taking area to take photos of you and your friends!

Speaking of wearing cute outfits, you might as well grab some pictures with your friends! Taking photos is always a great way to add in an activity during the event! You can do this by setting up some Fall accented decor like wreaths on a wall, pumpkins on a porch step, or surrounded by some colorful trees outside! This way, you can have some new photos of you and your hometown friends you can keep forever to remember how much fun you had at your Friendsgiving, and look back on while you are apart.

9. Pair your meals with some Autumn inspired alcoholic beverages!

Now that you and your friends are finally turning 21, it is only acceptable to feel like a true adult and add some fun into your dinner! Serving specific types of alcohol like red wines or hard ciders is the best way to continue utilizing that autumn theme you are striving for. Plus, who doesn't love sharing a drink with your friends!

10. Time for dessert and coffee!

The turkey has been devoured, some of your guests are napping on your couch with a football game playing on the television, and that means there is only one thing left to do...serve dessert! Pumpkin pies, cookies, and coffee are a must, and will end the party with you and your friends feeling happy and extremely full!

Now that you know these 10 easy tricks into making your Friendsgiving dinner one to never forget, don't forget to truly enjoy the time spent with your friends and loved ones for an extra special Thanksgiving season!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
