School is hard... scratch that... life is hard. Sometimes the stress gets built up so high that you find yourself in a hole that you feel like you might never escape. But this is not the end, my dear friend. Over the past few months, I have learned how to deal with my stress (Sometimes dealing with stress means binge watching "Friends"). Use these tips to develop your own stress reducers.
1. Walk away.
One of the best things to do when you start to panic is to just walk away and take a breather. Don't keep staring at the thing that freaks you out! Take 30 minutes to clear your mind. It makes a difference.
2. Talk to a friend.
If you're stressed, talking to a friend about it can calm you down, and more often than not, they will remind you that you can do it. Whatever "it" may be. (That motivation may also be followed by an 8 hour Netflix binge, but you'll feel better.)
3. Drive.
Sometimes just getting off campus will help you get your mind off of things. Take a drive to nowhere with the windows down and the music blaring. Go to a happy place both physically and mentally.
4. Take a nap.
Honestly, you're in college, you probably need it. Any excuse to nap is a good excuse.
5. Breathe.
Breath in. Breath out. Move on. You've got this.
Stop stressing, do a happy dance, and kick stress right in the phalange.
