Most of us are emotionally very dependent people, we may not come across as dependent people but everyone wants to have that one person they can confide their innermost secrets. A person who becomes a link between you, the family, and the world outside is called a friend.
A good friend lights up your spirits, each time you meet them you feel like a burden lifted off your shoulders because you're able to share your secrets and get satisfactory guidance. Their company adds to our joy, self-worth, and promotes good cognitive health.
During school, my friend and I shared everything about our lives with each other. We traveled in the same bus, sat in the same class, ate lunch together and lived on the same street! growing up, we always told ourselves we will forever stay together, although we were both very friendly people and had lots of other friends too, we enjoyed each other’s company the most.
By the time we reached middle-school her dad got relocated from his job to a different state, we were both disappointed and cried a lot!
After their move, we lost contact with each other which made us both sad. I felt lost, lonely, and depressed. I was always looking to build that bond with other kids in school but it just wasn’t happening.
Then a few years later something magical happened, we all got introduced to Facebook! And the first name I searched was her and she said the same thing! I cannot express how delightful it was to find her and since then till date, we have remained special friends.
With time our bond grew stronger, now we are like sisters who got each other’s backs.
Over the years our priorities have changed, we discuss our career paths, college classes we motivate each other to eat healthily, work out, learn to find a balance in life and constantly work on improving our lifestyle. Thinking back at those moments, it brings a smile to our faces.
However, to some, friendships are everlasting, Joyous moments with special friends are memorable and cherished till old age and don’t consist of an expiration date.
