I don't know what my earliest memory of you is. We've always been together. That's just the way it is. And I honestly did not expect this day to come so soon. I thought we had years before this. And yet he smiled at you, and it was a pretty adorable smile, and you fell in love with him, and he fell in love with you. Just the way it should be.
And you're married now.
You're married now and I am so incredibly happy for you. I've never seen you happier than you are now.
You're married now and I want to thank you. Thank you for being my best friend and confidant, my supporter and maybe (definitely) my hero. You taught me so much about life and loving people. About being a good friend, about forgiving no matter what. We had our ups and downs but we always pulled through. I have a bad habit of seeing the worst in people but because of you I'm learning to focus on the best. You are so kind to everyone. Sometimes I feel like you're too kind but that's not really possible. And you never gave up on me, despite the fact that some of these last years haven't been my best. Thank you for that. Thank you for being my best friend.
I will miss having you all to myself, but those feelings disappear in comparison to the joy I have at seeing you so blissfully happy.
Life is changing now. You're married and working on the last legs of your education. You may be moving in the near future. I may be, too. Those thoughts about change used to scare me, way back when we were 12 and 13. It still scares me, because I like things to be comfortable. But now the fear doesn't hold me so tightly; I'm starting to see the amazing possibilities life holds. And I'm not afraid of losing you, because you're my best friend. Yes, life will change and we'll change and we won't always be in the same spot, but the past has shown distance only helps us grow stronger.
I'm so proud of you. You are such a beautiful person and everyone who knows you is truly blessed. I can't wait to see what happens next for you. I can't wait for all the coffee and breakfast dates and the letters and gifts and (one day) babies. I can't wait to ask you to be my Maid of Honor, although that may be a long time coming.
You are an example to me of what love is and what love does. You've grown so much since you fell in love and started developing this fantastically lovely relationship with your husband. I hope to one day be as beautiful as you.
I will always pray for you and your husband. I will always be there for you.
Love, your best friend.
