Life is hard. I've said that a million times, you've said it, we've all said it. We all KNOW it. But usually, we laugh it off and move on, because sometimes things aren't really that bad and we know that they'll get better.

But sometimes life is particularly hard and you feel like things won't ever get better.

I know how that feels, and it's the absolute worst. Sometimes all the bad things that could happen to you seem to, all at once, and it's so overwhelming that so many parts of you want to give up. Whether it be a class, or a semester, or work, or a relationship, or just every facet of your life, it can get to be struggle to keep going. You immediately regret wondering if things could get any worse because you know that that's basically just a request for life to do just that.

I know how you feel; everyone does.

I want you to know that it's going to be OK.

You've probably heard that phrase a thousand and one times and I'm sure you're absolutely sick of it, but that doesn't make it any less true. Things WILL get better, but only if you let them. You have to keep going, you have to keep holding on; nothing changes unless you force it to change. It's difficult now, and the hardest part is looking past that. But, know your worth, know your strength, and continue chugging along. If there's anything I can promise you, it's that you won't ever regret not giving up.

To the friends and family who will read this, know that I love and support you endlessly. To the strangers who will read this, I'm here for you, too. We're all in this messy life thing together, and it's too short to waste time not spreading as much love and positivity as I can, even to people I don't know.

I'm proud of you. Keep going. You made it this far, and you can make it even further, despite what you're going through. The only thing you will ever need is yourself, and lucky for you, if you're reading this, you've already got that.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
