Dear Friends,
Ever since I started high school, I have realized how important friends are to me. I'm such a friend-oriented person. I am constantly with or talking to someone in my close-knit group, and they make me so happy when I am at the lowest point I could get to.
Now, being a teenager is weird. Friends come and go. Friends become people you never expected you'd be friends with, and sometimes, you even fall in love with someone in the friend group. The, in my opinion, ordinary friend group consists of many different "types" of people, and in this letter I am giving a special shout-out to all of the different types of people in my own friend group. If you think you might be able to relate and put YOUR friends into certain titles like the ones listed below, keep reading on.
Trust me, you know who you are...
The friend I consider my "best" friend... there is always that one person in the group who you just click with the most, and that person for me is you. Out of our friend group, I feel as though you and I are closer than either of us are to the others. We understand each other, we enjoy the same things, and being around each other, even if we're doing nothing, always makes us happy. The group wouldn't be the same without you in it.
The friend who has grown up with me... throughout my awkward life phases, you've been there for me to make jokes and just be myself around. Now, we are adults, and we have totally changed, yet the one thing that hasn't changed is our friendship. I don't think that ever will change, honestly. You've been there the longest, and you've seen me at my best and my worst. I wouldn't be able to survive in the group without you.
The friend I fell in love with... that's right, I'm lucky enough to have my boyfriend be a part of my friend group. It's so awesome how you can get along so well with my other friends, girls and guys alike. My friends liking my s/o is important to me, so you fitting in is such a bonus! You're not just a friend, you're the one I fell in love with and the one who sticks with me through every step of life, and I am more thankful for you than you know.
The "little sibling" friend... I'm sort of overprotective of you, like a big sister, but you obviously know that. If someone messes with you, I get defensive, if you're crying I get worried, and the list goes on. Bottom line, you're more of a little sibling to me than a friend, and I hope you know that I will always be there for you.
The friend that is barely around... although you're not around often, when you are, life changes for the better. Your presence makes the group whole. Whether it's distance or just being busy, we understand that you can't always be around with us, and we respect that. Know that we miss you when you're not there and cannot wait to see you again!
The funny friend... I could be having the worst day where all day I am in tears, but when I see you, my day gets 100 times better. Your humor makes me forget about how sad I was before I saw you. Your stupid jokes have actually helped me out a lot and you deserve a thank you for always putting a smile on my face.
The "mom" friend... you're the one who always tells me to "text you when I get home," or to "go to sleep because I have work in the morning," and every now and then you have to remind me to not do anything stupid. When I'm sick or injured you bring me treats to help me feel better and you remind me to do important things like stuff around the house. Yes, you're the mom friend, but you being there and caring so much, as a mother does, really makes me feel a lot better about myself. So thanks for being the "mom" friend!
The friend with the best advice... when I get advice from you, even if it's not what I want to hear, I know it's the right advice. You're honest and you know your stuff. I trust you with my entire being. Getting advice from you helps me to make the best decision I could make in certain situations.
The spontaneous friend... this is the friend that is always saying "let's do something," because sometimes, chilling inside and looking at memes and GIFs on our phones just doesn't cut it with this one. Whether it's just driving around aimlessly wasting our gas and listening to music, or we are actually going somewhere such as the mall or the beach, with this friend, it's always an adventure.
There are so many other titles I could give to my friends, but there's are just the few that come to my head. I cannot thank my friend group enough for being the best group of people I could spend my time with.
I hope everyone can find friends as great as mine, because with them, everyday feels like a dream come true.
