Each member of a friend group brings with them something different to add to the whole of the group dynamic. Whether you think you're the mom or the creepy uncle, everyone falls somewhere on the friend group family tree.

1. The Mom

If you can almost always be seen sporting a backpack full of snacks, an extra jacket, and anything else any of your friends may need, then you might be the mom of the friend group. Sure, it's a tough job keeping all these kids in line, but someone has to do it.

2. The Grandma

The Grandma of the friend group is the friend who can easily take a nap, no matter what time of day it is. The grandma may also not go out as much as everyone else because they prefer to stay in where they can wear their favorite pajamas and watch a good movie.

3. The Rebellious Teen

Rebellious teens, you know who you are. You have heard the words "Be careful!" from the mom of the group many times. The rebellious teen of the friend group is the one you really do not want mad at you. They have a short temper know how to hold a grudge like a pro.

4. The Goody-Two-Shoes

The goody-two-shoes of the family is the one rule follower who tries, although frequently without success, to keep everyone in line and out of trouble.

5. The Baby

The baby of the friend group is the one who everyone loves, even when they're being annoying, and who can get away with absolutely anything.

6. The Puppy

The puppy of the friend group has all the energy and excitement of a golden retriever mixed with the curiosity of a husky and all the cuteness of a black lab. It is impossible to be mad at them because they are just so gosh darn cute.

7. The Creepy Uncle

The creepy uncle of the friend group is the one who aggressively flirts with everyone and doesn't seem to quite understand personal space.

8. The Golden Boy

Star of the basketball team, super nice guy, and all-around heartthrob. The golden boy is impossible not to like and only makes you love him more with each grin from his perfect pearly whites.

9. The Cool Aunt

The cool aunt of the friend group has to be good at keeping secrets and keeping you out of trouble while also being the one who got you in that trouble in the first place. Your cool aunt is the one who tells you when you are looking extra good and is always ready to party.

10. Dad

The dad of the friend group is the boss, calls the shots and is always in charge. You always have your kid's backs and they love you for it.

"Family is like fudge, mostly sweet but with lots of of nuts."

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
