Where do I begin? I could give the comical history about how we used to hate each other, then became best friends one day in middle school. I could boast about how long we have remained best friends. I could write page after page about all the memories we made growing up. But this is for you. I want to say thank you for all that you have done, especially now that we go to different colleges.
I was never worried about the status of our friendship when we packed up our cars two and a half years ago, as you made your way up the mountain and I made my way into the Queen City. I was confident in us, but I knew I would miss you like crazy. Even though you are exactly 116.6 miles from me, you never feel that far away.
In the midst of figuring ourselves out, declaring majors, and meeting new people, I always look forward to briefing you on the details of my week, and hearing about yours. We revel in each other's weekend stories, and encourage each other as finals week approaches. We shared each other's excitement when we both rushed sororities our freshman year, and talked about it endlessly on fall and winter break. We are experiencing college at different universities, but I always feel like I am right there with you.
We have been doing this college thing for two and a half years now. Even though we should be well equipped with balancing school, work, and play by now, we still struggle from time to time. Through it all, you have been there to get me back on my feet and remind me of how far we have come. Whether it's needing a little advice or a little laughter, I can count on you to brighten my day. College brings us many accomplishments and setbacks, but through it all, I know you will always be my best friend.
So thank you for keeping my screen shots safe and trusting me with yours. Thank you for letting me vent to you every other day like it's my job. Thank you for having Snapchat video conversations with me for days on end. Thank you for keeping me updated on the latest App drama. Thank you for hanging out with me every single day of fall and winter break.
No matter where we go in life, I can count on you to be my person. I look forward to watching you accomplish all that you set out to do. I will always be in your corner, rooting you on, sticking up for you, and laughing with you when life becomes too difficult. I'll always be here for you, because you are always there for me. Even though we go to different universities, thank you for making it feel like the opposite.
