5 Things You Will Miss About Freshman Year of College

1. Your friends.

There is nothing better than being at school with some of your best friends, that you met there, just making so many memories. It is nice to be able to experience the college life along side some of the best people around. However, now that it is summer, you are not able to see your college friends every day as you were used to. Three months is too long, I will definitely be visiting my summer friends this summer.

2. Being able to walk down a couple flights of stairs to see your friends.

There is nothing better than being able to walk down a couple flights of stairs to visit your friends. Now that it is summer if you want to see your friends in person you either have to drive to them and in most cases, the drives are far.

3. Seeing your friends every day.

Every meal you eat is probably eaten with your friends. There is no better feeling than just hanging around people that are positive and cherish your friendship. It is nice to just be able to call them on the phone when you need them and be able to meet up on campus whenever you want.

4. Just having the time of your life.

College is a time to discover your true self and just have fun. There is no better time than college, where you are able to spend every day alongside your friends.

5. Not having to worry about a curfew or your parent's rules.

Yes, in college there are no rules set by your parents. You do not have to be home by a certain time. In college, you can go out whenever you want and can do whatever you want without your parents there to yell at you.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
