This Fourth of July, Christians should remember their religious freedom in Christ, as well as their national freedom.

Fourth of July is one of the most anticipated and widely celebrated holidays across the United States for a good reason, because it our national independence day, when we broke free of British rule. As a result, we live in a country where we are allowed to enjoy many freedoms that most take for granted. We as a country are allowed many freedoms (religious, economic, speech etc. just to name a few), that many other countries in the world do not enjoy.

Living in free country is an important gift. We as American citizens must be aware of what freedoms we have as a country and not take them for granted. It is easy to lose sight of this reality as we go through our daily lives.

The meaning of freedom has changed so much in the last year and it is difficult to pinpoint the most exact, pure true definition. Many social movements have made freedom into an excuse to live according to their feelings and bend the law to fit their social agendas, no matter how twisted and perverse they are. We live in an age where our whole nation is confused as to what freedom really means.

I present a different freedom Christians should use in their life. Christians are free of sin and guilt because of the Savior’s death on the cross. We must live our life to glorify God in the way Christ would have us live. The truest definition of freedom for a Christian living in the United States is living your life as an example for other people to see to show thankfulness to God for salvation and being a witness to others so that they may notice you are different because of your freedom in Christ. This can be achieve by showing kindness to friends and strangers, or whoever we come in contact that need our help.

Christians are free because of Christ and have a calling to witness to other people in their life who have never heard of the gospel, or associated with Christians.

Freedom should not be blatant excuse for Christians to live their life however they please because “You Only Live Once.” They should do something more meaningful and lasting with the few short years they have on the earth.

Earthly freedom is not just an excuse to live life the way a person wants, and do whatever possible in pursuit of vain thrills, but a calling for a deeper meaning in life to witness to others so they can come to faith and knowledge of the Gospel.

We have many freedoms to enjoy in our country, but we must not forget the freedom of salvation we are freely given through Christ. That must be the motivation for how we as American citizens live our lives throughout the year, especially during holidays. This Fourth of July, amidst all the celebrations, Americans should not only remember those who fight for our country’s freedom, but we must also remember the One who gave the ultimate sacrifice by sending His Son to die for our sins.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
