It was Wednesday when I decided to watch the episode of "The Curse of Oak Island" from the night before. I was very excited when I turned it on because it was only the second week of the new season! As the episode neared the end, the viewers learned the sad news of Frederick Nolan's passing.
This is when I decided to write this tribute to his life he lived.
I had been planning to write an article someday on the topic of Oak Island, but I never thought this would be my first one about it.
"The Curse of Oak Island" isn't one of those made-up adventures that is watched on a weekly basis. This show is based off of real stories lived out by real people in a real place. Mr. Nolan was one of those lives that dedicated so much time to solving the mystery of Oak Island.
Frederick Nolan had so much information about secrets on the island in that brain of his. He had created 40-50 years of work into maps, helped find out where the "money pit" is, and even figured out the clue called "Nolan's Cross". These are only a few examples of the many additions he made to searching for secret treasure and searching for solutions to all the questions Oak Island has. For such a long time, Fred Nolan was one of the main people who helped everyone today get, not just one, but thousands of steps closer to solving the mystery.
If I could meet him in person, I would thank him for all of this. I would ask a few questions about who he thinks buried the treasure and what could possibly be down in the "money pit". I would ask him how he was able to make a living while looking for the answers to the mystery held on the island. Any person with any interest about Oak Island would have been blessed to converse with Fred Nolan. He knew so much information that others now never will know. It would've truly been an honor to meet Fred Nolan in person.
Mr. Nolan is still a significant asset to Oak Island. He did to much work on the island for so long that all of his accomplishments mustn't go to waste! Fred Nolan set a super high standard for the current team on island to reach.
To all his loved ones, I am praying for you. To the current treasure-hunters, I hope you can solve the mystery and continue on his legacy in a way that would honor him. To all the other fans out there, we must come together, be thankful for those in our lives today, and keep rooting on the Oak Island team!
