How do you put together the right combination of words to say goodbye to the best parts of you? This is the challenge I'll have to face when dropping my two sisters off at college this year.
As triplets, we have literally known each other for every second of our existence. Being a triplet is exactly like what you've read and heard about it, you go through life with automatic best friends and a built in support system. Whether I need a hug or a kidney, I know my sisters will be there for me, and I'll always be there for them. It is incredible.
Being a triplet is the biggest blessing I have, and will ever have.
Their presence has shaped me into who I am today, but now that we are all going to college in three different states, a lot is going to change.
So, to Erin and Molly, this is what I would like to say to you as we each go off on our separate adventures:
Congratulations! You've made it to the point in your life where people will know you for you and not mistake you for the other! You've also survived sharing a room with me for the past 18 years so good for you!
But in all seriousness, I am so thankful to have grown up with you two and being able to watch you grow up into brave, brilliant, and bright women.
You two might only be a couple minutes older than me, but I truly do look up to you for all the amazing things you do. I am beyond lucky to have had you both right by my side for the last 18 years, and, as we have all admitted, it is going to be a challenge being so many miles away from each other.
When you are feeling anxious, I won't be there to hold your hand and walk around the playground with you. We won't be able to go up stairs, sit on our beds, and rant about the day. We won't be able to squeeze next to each other in the back of the car and drive mom and Nana nuts with our bickering.
We won't be able to sneak into each other's closets before school. We won't be arguing over who will go let the dog outside to use the bathroom in the middle of a movie.
There are so many things we have taken for granted over the past 18 years, yet, we were so lucky to have them.
It's a bittersweet time since we will no longer have a sleepovers every night, but we are going on to great things. Things we have dreamed of since we were little. Although it's been fun going to school together for so long, sharing classes and lunch tables, we are all ready to have our own adventures. Adventures where people are able to tell the difference between us and the words "Oh you're one of the Bright Triplets" won't confine us as a label.
We will be our own people, and you sure are incredible people.
In college, I ask you to remember just three things.
First, remember to be yourself.
Everything about you is unique and special, everyone you meet deserves to see the real you and will love you for it. I also want you to remember that mistakes happen. You are two of the smartest people I know and you are definitely the two most hard working people I know.
Despite that though, you might make some mistakes. It happens and that it okay.
You can learn from it and you will become even better of a person. The last thing I want you to remember is that you can always talk to me. I cannot wait to hear about that annoying kid who always tries to talk to you at parties or the professor that decided to add two pages to the already 10-page paper you are stressed about. I'll even try to become a more responsible teen and attempt to keep up our snap streak just so I can hear about your day.

Molly and Erin, thank you for being the best parts of my life. I hope college is everything you hoped it would be and more because you deserve it. You two deserve this entire world, and I know that college is just your first step to getting it.
I love you. I can't wait to see our shenanigans back in action Thanksgiving Break!
