Within four years a lot can happen. A lot can change for yourself, for others, or even a place. For seniors, three and now almost four years ago, we were little (somewhat) innocent freshmen just trying to get the hang of this college thing at West Chester. As we have changed, so has the University and it’s crazy to think a lot has happened while we have been enrolled. Here is a list of the top 10 things that have changed during our time from Fall 2012 to Spring 2016.
- Lets cut to the chase on one of the biggest changes we seniors have been affected by. THE GREAT LAWN! The Quad was great, it did it’s job, we got to class and could stop for a seat at a bench crossing from Main to Recitation when we got winded. NOW, keep on walking. You got awhile to go to get from one side to another.
- Sykes has upgraded! Of course after we no longer have meal plans. Ram’s Head is still Ram’s Head, with rice bowls, Taco Tuesday (and Thursday), and the get-it-while you can Chick fil A, but can we talk about those new turkey and gouda cheese pinwheels?! Yum!
- Affiliated dorms with flat screen tv’s, a yoga studio, and outdoor balcony… OK!
- Can someone let me know when we got crossing guards?! Like people will stand there and stop the speeding cars coming down Rosedale for me! Thanks and all, but someone has to pay my tuition.
- The Greek truck <3
- That new building on the corner of Church Street?! Who knows if it’ll be open by the time we graduate, but at least we know our tuition is being spent keeping the lights on all hours of the night in the construction site.
- All the new grass that is being laid or flowers being planted, that is at least the worth of three credits per a student!
- Cya later Mitchell dorm, it is now full of classrooms.
- Couch Tomato… need I say more?
- Saying goodbye to Alibi’s! Oh wait, we weren’t 21 yet and unfortunately never got to go.
With all these changes though, some things will always be the same. West Chester University wouldn’t be what it is without Baker Bob or Diner Dan, always having a spot to park in… LOL just kidding because you actually can never finding a parking spot, or searching the library for Wi-Fi to connect to, but that is what we love/hate about this place. In our three years we have seen so much change and the craziest part is to think that we still have one year left and every time we come back because of post-grad depression.
