Forest Gump's mother sure knew what she was talking about when she said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get." Just like fashion, life is ever-changing. Whether you are a freshman in college just starting to think about what the future will hold, or have graduated and work at your dream job, your fashion sense is a constant reflection on what stage of life you're at.

So, take a trip with me down fashion lane with these beauties...

When thinking about freshman year, two words come to mind; scary and exciting! For some, this is the first time leaving the nest for an extended period of time, and they are sad about leaving their homes and families. For others, they are excitedly awaiting making new friends and experiencing a new way of life. No matter your feelings about freshman year in college, it is an amazing year full of learning experiences.

Clearly not your average freshman, both Vanessa and Symone (pictured below) have a heightened sense of fashion and they express that on a daily basis. Below, Vanessa is styling a sophisticated and chic little black dress with a black scarf and high socks to match. Her dark brown button up shirt creates a contrast while maintaining a cozy feel to this classic ensemble.

Symone's personality clearly shines through in her color choice of red; although, the best thing she is styling in this picture is a gorgeous smile. Confidence is in no way shape or form lacking from her as she dove head first into her freshman year. Getting involved in many extra curricular activities while maintaining an excellent academic standing, there is nothing that Symone can't tackle in this striking ensemble.

With freshman year being over and many new experiences under your belt, now the real challenges sink in. Devon (pictured below), although is only in her second year, has had her first taste of college and is now ready to crank things up a bit. Taking more risks and trying new things is not only something that occurs on a personal level, but also on a fashion level. Styling this retro letterman jacket with a lacey white crop top, demonstrates confidence on a new level. Paired with black leggings and blue simple-strappy heals, this entire ensemble fits Devon's personality and emphasizes her natural beauty..

Isn't she simply glowing?

Pictured below, Heather is a perfect picture of the ideal Junior. Not only is she dealing with the stress of academics, she is also an active member of her college community. Heather's ensemble featured below gives off a mature and cozy vibe. The cotton sweater, matched with navy capri pants and toms create a homey appearance. Ready and optimistic for a wonderful future, there is nothing Heather can't tackle!

For those of you graduating in 2016, along with myself, this one is for you...

Throughout all four years of college, there have been countless experiences both small and large which have impacted the person you are today. The stress of grades and maintaining new found relationships was matched with attempting to figure out what the rest of your life is going to look like. All of the late nights spent working on papers, presentations and take home exams are now proving to be worth every second. Your fashion taste has clearly demonstrated each emotional, mental and physical change you underwent. Somehow, through every up and down, you never lost hope.

As a queen sits on her thrown, Jannery (featured below) sits on this vintage couch at Centenary College in Seay Administration Building, ready to take on the world. While styling an adorable pencil skirt and black top, the cherry on top of the sundae is the happiness radiating from her smile.

Ashley (featured below) is not only a clearly beautiful model, but more importantly, my best friend. Throughout her college career, she not only has taken many chances academically and socially, but she also is a daring fashionista. Styling below a black long sleeve blouse, paired with a black patent leather skirt and boots, she adds contrast to her ensemble with a burgundy faux-fur vest and long silver necklace. Ready to take on the real world and whatever life hands her, she has approached her life with grace and maturity.

Well everyone, now it's time to get serious. With the rest of your life awaiting you, the world is your oyster! Whether you find your dream job right after graduation or you do a bit of soul searching, take each day for what it truly is: a gift. Sarah (picture below) has done just that. Tackling the world in this adorable ensemble, Sarah is easily described with one word, "hug-able." Since working at her dream job and living in her own apartment, she has truly grasped the concept of adulthood.

I want to take this opportunity to give a HUGE thanks to all of my gorgeous models who shared their stories with me and allowed me to then share it with you. Also, a huge thanks to the photographer, Keon, for shooting with me and making this article a reality!

As always, stay beautiful and keep reading....

Your gal pal,

xoxo

Meg :)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
