"I know the sorrow and I know the hurt, would all go away if you just say the word"
Even If- Mercy Me
Pain. It is a four letter word, a strange combination of letters to form a large meaning. We are all very familiar, we have all experienced it. Emotionally and Physically. We have also begged for it to just disappear.
But it doesn't, not at that second at least. Maybe not even that day, but it does. We all contemplate, and some even ask God "Why does such a small word exist in this world and in our very lives?" The answer to such a broad question should have a broad answer, but recently i have come to learn it is something very simple.
Recently this word has passed through my mind a couple times a day. I have felt it, I have seen it; I have questioned it. Oddly enough, I have seen the answer to this question a few times just today. From a book, from my aunt, from a friend. Let me ponder with you my reason.
Most grandparents would advise their children to let their babies "Do it, they will only do it once." because soon the child will learn after they jump off that chair that it does bruise. To further explain, I feel as if God enforces this rule. We must learn from experience, we must make better decisions to advert from pain we have felt before. Now this is not always the case, but it does apply. You must fall, you must scrape your knee, your must go through such heartache to learn and make better choices afterward.
You must have these experiences.
Because then you become knowledgeable, just a bit. You can become resourceful to God after you've learned better. You can become the answer to someone else's prayer. If you know of a heart someone else is feeling then you could console them, be an example to them and help them. Then the cycle continues. Until we all relate and we all know the better option is the left turn and not right.
God could stop the pain and stop all the hurt, but then where would our choices lead us?
"Even if you don't, my hope is You alone."
He knows where each path and where each choice will put us, He knows the way.
So while you are hurting, know that there is good to come of this. There is a reason this happened; there is a reason why you will heal from this hurt.
Psalm 46:10 He says, "Be still, and know that I am God"
