Today, pretty much everything revolves around technology. We practically have apps for everything, from helping you sleep to locating where you last parked your car. Well now, there are apps that can help you get dressed in the morning. I know what you’re saying, “What, there’s an app for that?” It’s pretty shocking and I didn’t believe it myself, so I decided to give them a try. So, ladies and gentlemen here it is, four fashion friendly apps that you should immediately download.
1. Stylebook
I was going to save the best for last, but I got too excited and couldn’t wait. Stylebook is an incredible way to organize that mess of a closet. The first step is to upload a picture of all your clothes. You can do this by looking up a picture online or taking a picture yourself. Once you upload the pictures you can crop the background so the pictures are easier to work with. Once this process is done, the app allows you to piece your clothes together to create a complete outfit. You can even layer clothes and add accessories! For me picking out an outfit in the morning is a dreadful process but this app allows me to do so while staying in the comfort of my bed. Stylebook costs $3.99 in the app store and is not yet available for Android users.
2. The Hunt
This next app is the cure for any outfit envy. The Hunt consists of a community of people “hunting” for a certain piece of clothing. Have you ever seen someone wearing a dress that you HAD to have but you didn’t know where you could buy it? With The Hunt you can upload a picture of what you are looking for and other users help you locate it. I’ve had this app for about two years and all of my hunts have been answered. You can also help other users by responding to their hunts. The Hunt is free in the app store and is available for both iPhone and Android.
3. Polyvore
This app is very useful for those days when you can’t seem to find anything to wear. When first signing up for the app you are asked to select three outfits from a list. From this, Polyvore gets to know your personal style. They will then post outfits to match your style on your feed. You can also create outfits of your own. When you see an outfit you like you can simply tap the heart in the upper right hand corner. This helps the app get to know your style a little more to know what other outfits to post on your feed. Polyvore is free in the app store and is available for iPhone and Android.
4. The Vane
This app is a close second for my favorite fashion apps. When first signing up for The Vane, you are asked a few basic questions about your style. One important question it asks is if you are normally hotter or colder compared to other people. This helps the app decide the amount of layers you should wear for the weather that day. The app uses your location to see what the weather would be like for that day. It has a lists of possible outfit types that would be fitting for the weather. You also have the option to change the outfits from causal to business, and to plan outfits for vacation purposes. The Vane is free in the app store and is not yet available for Android.
