With formal season in full swing and everyone trying each other's lives in order to get a great date to chill with, things are getting out of hand. As someone who isn't affiliated, I know nothing about formals, but I do know that I have some great friends who deserve to have a great night. With that being said, since a certain someone lost their chance with my cooler than school friend, this article is centered around Nia Simone Walters, who I decided is the most formal-worthy woman on Stetson's campus. So, now I am here to tell the world exactly why. Seven reasons to be exact.
1. Have you seen her?
Like seriously, Nia is gorgeous and if we’re being shallow here (which we will be for five seconds), she’s so beautiful and anyone would be lucky to have her on their arm.
2. Have you listened to her?
If there’s anyone to hold a solid and productive conversation with, Nia is your girl. Whether it be politics, art, or science, my homie knows what she is talking about. You'll fight to keep yourself from dying of laughter and nodding in understanding.
3. Can’t dance? She will teach you.
When that beat drops, so does she.
I lack an incredible amount of rhythm, but honestly, when I’m out with Nia that never matters. She never makes fun of me for my dancing and just dances around me to make me seem cooler. It’s a win-win and I always have a great time.
4. She brings the party.
In the handful of times I go out a semester, each time Nia is with me I know the party is going to be lit. She’s one-half of a party duo that can take a lame time to something worth being at. She's not only social, but once you let her pick the playlist, the boredom immediately ends.
5. You don’t need alcohol to have fun with her.
Contrary to popular belief, you can get ’turnt’ without a drank in your cup. Believe me. Nia does it all the time.
If you need alcohol to have a good time, then maybe the person isn’t the one you should be going with. Everyone needs a breather and some time to relax, but not everyone wants to have someone falling over themselves because they had a bit too much.
6. Down to earth.
Being as down to the ground as Nia is, she doesn’t judge anyone for who they are or how they look. Sometimes, people think that they have to be a certain way to be with someone. Honestly, just be yourself with Nia.
7. She's honest, so you should just be honest too.
Don’t lie. Don’t lie. Do. Not. Lie. It’s not that hard to be truthful. People mess up but Nia is forgiving and understanding no matter what. Always the one to have your back, Nia’s got you as long as you have her, too. What more can you ask for in a date?
