It's March, which means it's time for fraternity formals. Fraternity formals aren't all about traveling for a weekend and having fun with friends. There are some preparations you have to do before the formal weekend. The main task: decorating a cooler. Here are some things to keep in mind while you are decorating.
1. Start with enough time to finish the cooler.
Unless you plan on Mod Podging the entire cooler, you are going to need some time to finish. I usually need a minimum of a week to complete one!
2. If you aren't doing anything in class, now would be the time to skip.
Your cooler has to be the best, so you're going to need time. What if you mess up and have to re-do the entire side?!
3. Don't forget to do your school work in your down time.
While you're waiting for your cooler to dry, you can work on homework or study for an exam. Don't let your grades slack because you think you've found your artistic calling.
4. Tears won't ruin your cooler.
Don't worry if you get frustrated and shed a tear; it isn't going to mess up your cooler. So, let yourself cry a little bit and let go of your frustration.
5. Don't send your date pictures of your progress.
Let it be a surprise! You know deep down you want to see his reaction to your cooler, and it better be as amazing as you're expecting.
6. Seal your cooler when you're done.
This is so important. You spent all of that time and effort making your cooler great, might as well make sure it is around for a long time. Protect it.
7. If anyone has the nerve to say something negative about your cooler, get rid of them.
You don't need that kind of negativity in your life. Besides, they're just jealous of you're cooler.
8. When you get paint on you (and you will), use blue Dawn dish soap.
I swear by this. It is absolutely a life saver when it comes to getting out unwanted crafting accidents.
9. At the end of the day, you're a sorority girl, so live up to that reputation. Crafting is in our blood. Use Pinterest, your sisters and your talents.
